Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) is established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in May 2000. The main motif behind its foundation was to provide a single platform for imparting education in wide array of professional and technical course including Architecture, Engineering, Technology, Town Planning, Management studies, IT, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and several other programs. UPTU covers the affiliation of colleges/institutions/universities of the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. Its educational sphere is not up to the undergraduate degree programs but is extended to Post graduate, research and developmental and doctoral programs as well.

Central Admission Committee (CAB) constituted under the Chairmanship of Vice Chancellor of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow conducts the State entrance Examination (SEE) for taking admission into various courses offered by colleges/institutions in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow in conducting State Entrance Examination on 18th and 19th April,2009 for admission to degree courses in engineering (B.Tech.)/Pharmacy (B.Phar.)/architecture (B.Arch.)/Hotel management (BHMCT)/Fashion & apparel Design Technology (BFAD) and Post Graduate courses MCA/MBA of Govt. Aided and Private unaided institutions affiliated to U.P. technical university for the academic session 2009-10

Eligibility criteria:
Foe admission to first year of B.Tech./B.Phar./BHMCT.BFAD candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board/University.

For admission to second year (lateral entry) of B.Tech., the candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Engineering course: securing minimum 605 marks in aggregate or three years B.Sc. degree with mathematics as one subject, securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

This admission test is open to the open to the candidates who passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in U.P. or whose parents(father or Mother) are domicile of U.P. and 10% seats of all India level candidates.
