The Regional Mathematical Olympiad is a state level examination, a stepping stone towards the national level examination, the INMO. Mathematical Olympiad is a problem solving competition originating at the state or regional level and terminating in a world championship. The Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India is organized by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), on behalf of the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
Mathematical Olympiad consists of the following 4 stages

Indian National Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp: Each region conducts a training camp of 1-2 weeks in December-January for the students who qualified RMO in that particular region, before they appear for the national level test.
2. Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) : Held on the first Sunday of February each year, students who have qualified RMO from their respective region (or through RMO conducted by CBSE/KVS/NVS) are eligible to participate in this 4 hour test.
