Gujarat government’s Education department has announced that in year 2013 Engineering and Pharmacy admission procedure, the state government will replace
existing GUJCET with CBSE’s JEE Main.
Also while creating a merit list, 50% weightage will be given to JEE Main score and 50% weightage will be given to higher secondary examination board’s 12th result. Also instead of percentage of the candidate, his/her percentile rank will be taken into consideration while preparing merit list.
It should be mentioned that CBSE has taken a decision to hold JEE Main exam instead of AIEEE from year 2013. The exam is scheduled to take place on 7 April 2013. This exam will be similar to AIEEE and it will have only one question paper containing physics, chemistry and maths. A question paper will be available in any of three languages – Hindi, English and Gujarati. The question paper will be in objective style. Applications for this exam will be accepted online at proper time after CBSE’s announcement in this regard.
